Shawn Bates

General Manager

Experience doesn't just teach you about flooring. It teaches you about people.

After more than 35 years in the flooring industry, Shawn Bates has learned that the best flooring decisions aren't made by choosing the newest product or following the latest trend.

They're made by understanding how people live, what they value, and what they'll still appreciate years after the project is finished. That perspective has guided Shawn throughout his career and continues to shape every customer experience at Peak Flooring's Loveland showroom.

His Background

More Than Three Decades of Flooring Experience

Shawn's career began with a carpet cleaning business, where homeowners frequently asked the same question: "Should we replace our flooring?" Those conversations naturally led him into flooring sales, where he quickly realized he enjoyed helping people solve problems far more than simply selling products.

Over the years, Shawn expanded his expertise into hardwood flooring, luxury vinyl plank (LVP), carpet, laminate flooring, waterproof flooring, tile, and complete home remodeling projects. His career has also included owning a flooring business specializing in preparing homes for the real estate market, operating a telephony software company, and building an online retail business. Although those experiences broadened his business knowledge, flooring has always remained his greatest professional passion.

His Approach

Helping Homeowners Make Smart Long-Term Decisions

Shawn believes flooring should be viewed as an investment, not simply a purchase. Whether someone is updating a forever home, preparing a property for sale, renovating a rental, or improving an investment property, every flooring decision should support the customer's long-term goals.

Rather than starting with products, Shawn begins by asking questions: How do you live? Do you have children or pets? Are you renovating to increase resale value? How much maintenance are you comfortable with? Those conversations allow him to recommend flooring solutions that balance beauty, durability, maintenance, budget, and long-term value. His goal is never to recommend the most expensive option—it's to recommend the right option.

His Specialty

A Trusted Resource for Homeowners & Real Estate Professionals

Throughout his career, Shawn has worked closely with homeowners, Realtors, contractors, builders, property managers, and real estate investors across Northern Colorado. His experience preparing homes for sale and renovating investment properties gives him a unique perspective on flooring decisions that maximize both everyday enjoyment and long-term property value.

He particularly enjoys helping customers compare hardwood flooring, luxury vinyl plank (LVP), carpet, laminate flooring, waterproof flooring, and tile while explaining how each option performs in different homes, lifestyles, and investment situations. That thoughtful, educational approach reflects Peak Flooring's commitment to Flooring Simplified.
